Job Description

Position Overview:

Senior Accountant responsible for delivering accurate, high-quality accounting, taxation, bookkeeping, and compliance services to Australian clients in line with Australian Accounting Standards and the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements. This role provides vital production and review support, ensuring efficient preparation of management accounts, financial statements, tax returns, and related compliance documentation. Key Responsibilities: 
Financial Accounting & Reporting • Process and complete annual financial statements • Conduct reconciliations for balance sheets, bank accounts, and inter-company transactions. • Review trial balances and ensure accuracy of general ledger postings. • Prepare adjusting journals and maintain accurate workpapers supporting all balances. Taxation & Compliance • Prepare income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, and trusts. • Prepare and review BAS, IAS, and GST reconciliations in accordance with ATO requirements. • Assist in tax planning for clients, if required. • Ensure accuracy and timely submission of all compliance deliverables. Client Engagement & Communication • Work with Australian accountants and managers to clarify client requirements and discuss findings. • Provide clear documentation and explanations for all work performed. • Maintain strict client confidentiality and professional standards in all communications. Workflow & Team Collaboration • Review and check the work of less-qualified and less-experienced team members, including accounting and tax work, bookkeeping, or payroll tasks. • Contribute to process improvement, workflow efficiency, and automation initiatives. • Work closely with the Australian-based team to meet deadlines and maintain quality control. • Participate in internal training and continuous professional development.Qualification and requirements:

Technical Skills Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent. • CPA (Philippines or Australia) qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential • 3-5 years experience in accounting, including at least 2 years working with Australian clients or firms. • Advanced knowledge of Australian accounting, GST, and income tax concepts. • Strong technical expertise in Xero (Xero certification). • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel – data manipulation, pivot tables, etc. • High attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines. • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
