What Makes This Role Exciting
We are looking for an energetic and passionate Senior QA Engineer who can bring their test automation experience and knowledge to our product engineering team. Our Senior QA Engineers work in agile teams to ensure quality of the product and reports to Test Team Lead/Manager. Senior QA Engineers are responsible for designing, developing and executing automation solutions for our web-based products. He/she will also be responsible to maintain the automation framework/infrastructure and to evolve our automation strategy with new tools and best practices in the market.
Main Responsibilities
Testing:
- Design, create, and execute manual test cases for functional testing, integration testing, regression testing and exploratory testing (when necessary)
- Work within the agile team, take ownership of testing activities of the team and ensure the quality of the product
- Perform requirement analysis by assessing its usability and fit for purpose from an end user perspective
- Take ownership for designing and preparing test scenarios and test cases in test case management tools
- Collaborate within the agile team for functional and technical impact analysis and identify regression scope
Test Script Design and Execution:
- Prepare data, design and develop repeatable, data-driven automated UI, API, and integration test script using Katalon Studio (including execution and results analysis as necessary)
- Maintain the automation infrastructure and CI/CD integrations for automation tests
- Own and maintain the data driven automation framework and best practices
- Develop reusable components to enhance the automation framework for maximum reuse of code
- Explore, research about internationally recognized Software Testing tools/process in the market and help team to evolve accordingly
Mentoring:
- Mentor junior team members of the testing team
- Provide automation testing related expertise and solutions to other team members
- Involve in reviewing other team members work and provide guidance to them
Experience Needed For This Role
- Proven experience in software testing with focus on test automation
- Experience in UI test automation like Selenium, Katalon Studio
- Object-oriented programming skills (Preferably Java)
- Good knowledge or experience in test automation framework (Data Driven or Keyword Driven Frameworks)
- Knowledge or experience in integrating automation executions to CI/CD like Bamboo or Jenkins
- Ability to analyze the requirement (both from a testing and end user point of view) to derive test scenarios and test cases
- Experience and knowledge of working with test case management and defect management tools
- Excellent logical, analytical and root cause analysis skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to own, prioritize and plan your own workload to tight timescales to meet release deadlines
Desirable:
- Experience of working in an agile or scrum environment would be an advantage
- Experience in API testing using tools like SoapUI/PostMan/Katalon Studio would be an advantage
- Knowledge or experience in performance testing would be an advantage
