Job Description

Concertina is seeking a Senior Accountant (Remote) to support the finance operations of a U.S.-based client in the real estate and construction sector. This role is pivotal in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data critical to business operations and strategic growth.

The ideal candidate brings direct experience in real estate or construction accounting, a deep understanding of GAAP, and strong analytical and ERP system skills. You'll handle core accounting functions including project/job costing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit support, while helping identify and implement process improvements.

You'll thrive in this role if you're highly detail-oriented, proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP platforms, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain general ledger entries including adjusting entries and accruals.
  • Execute timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and ensure documentation is audit-ready.
  • Track project/job costs and ensure alignment with budgets and cost codes.
  • Support vendor invoice processing and manage account inquiries.
  • Review employee reimbursements and corporate credit card reconciliations.
  • Analyze variances and trends to support key financial decisions.
  • Use ERP/accounting systems for transaction processing and data analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Assist with external audits and documentation preparation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings and tax documentation.Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data consistency across departments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification required.
  • 25 years of progressive accounting experience, with direct experience in real estate or construction environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with ERP/accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
