Job Description

Levanta Renewables is a renewable energy developer and independent power producer in Southeast Asia, supplying clean energy to both corporate and utility customers. We develop, build, and operate renewable energy solutions tailored to each country's transition priorities while ensuring sustainable and community-aligned growth. Backed by Actis, a leading sustainable infrastructure private equity firm, Levanta is developing 1.5 GW of renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia through a combination of M&A and greenfield projects across C&I and utility-scale segments.

Due to business expansion, we are actively seeking a Senior Project Development Manager to be based in the Philippines to join our Business Development team.

Role & Responsibilities

General:

  • Report to the Head of Business Development, Philippines, and serve as a key team member supporting the identification, evaluation, and execution of utility-scale opportunities aligned with the company's strategic and growth objectives.
  • Support stakeholder engagement with central government agencies and represent the company at industry seminars, conferences, and related events to strengthen market presence and drive project origination.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams and cross-functional groups, using strong interpersonal skills to balance and align the interests of multiple stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Business Development, Philippines.

Project Origination:

  • Create and maintain the deal pipeline. Build a strong network for originating deals and a systematic approach to shortlisting and processing deals.
  • Evaluate utility-scale opportunities for Levanta end-to-end (origination - conducting due diligence - submitting offers transaction documents negotiations closing the transaction)
  • Prepare key memos (board presentations, valuation note etc.) pertaining to these opportunities
  • During the construction phase of a project, support the project management and construction team with support on permitting and coordination with the lenders.

Project Development (including securing land, permits, EPC, PPA and debt financing)

  • Progress the development activities of greenfield projects to reach financial closure and enable commencement of construction including securing all the necessary permits
  • Liaise with the Department of Energy (DOE), Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), local government units (LGUs), and other relevant government agencies to secure licenses, permits, and land use certificates in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Coordinate with NGCP and TransCo for the review and approval of technical documentation, including substation and transmission line drawings.
  • Supervise project regulatory and compliance work with government agencies
  • Prepare tender documentation for participation in public and / or private auctions
  • Work with the legal teams for land due diligence for private land and lead the land conversion process with the Department of Agrarian Reform.
  • Secure land conversion and reclassification in a timely manner that is consistent with the overall project timeline.
  • Procure the right way for the T line and access roads.
  • Prepare, lead, and execute the land contracts (Contract to Sell, Deed of Absolute Sale, Offer to Lease or lease agreements, as applicable) for the projects under development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector in the Philippine renewable energy market.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to navigate complex transactions and development risks.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and motivate others toward shared goals.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess value drivers and evaluate project viability.
  • Language: Fluency in English and Filipino is required.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution is required. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., finance, data science, business) are considered a plus.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with international or large local IPPs, developers, or infrastructure investors.
  • Experience in participation and winning GEAP auctions, signing PPAs and procuring non-recourse debt financing.
