Job Summary
The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring HVAC projects in compliance with Philippine standards and project requirements. The role includes financial planning for procurement of materials and equipment, cost control, and coordination with project, engineering, and purchasing teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare and maintain detailed HVAC project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Monitor site progress and update schedules based on actual accomplishments.
- Identify potential delays and recommend recovery plans to meet project milestones.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and subcontractors to align construction activities.
- Prepare short-term (look-ahead) schedules to support site execution.
Cost & Financial Planning
- Prepare and monitor project budgets related to HVAC works.
- Develop cash flow forecasts for materials, equipment, and subcontract packages.
- Track project expenditures and analyze cost variances.
- Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and compliance.
Procurement & Purchasing Coordination
- Plan material and equipment requirements in accordance with approved schedules.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing Department for procurement of HVAC materials and major equipment such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF systems, ducting, and piping.
- Review technical specifications and commercial quotations to ensure compliance with project requirements and approved budgets.
Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate with QA/QC, Safety, and Engineering teams to ensure works comply with project specifications, Philippine Mechanical Code, and local regulations.
- Support risk assessment activities related to schedule and cost impacts.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to company policies and project procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PRC) preferred.
- Minimum 710 years of experience in HVAC project planning and execution.
- Strong background in cost planning, budgeting, and procurement coordination.
- Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel.
