Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a Senior Marine Operations & Port Cost Specialist to join our Port Cost Management team. This role is designed for an experienced maritime professional who is comfortable working independently and has a strong understanding of port operations, agency services, terminal billing, and port authority cost structures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the primary expert on all matters concerning port charges and vessel call procedures

• Analyze port tariffs, billing statements, and service documents, ensuring their accuracy

• Break down vessel call expenses at various ports and identify the factors influencing these costs

• Collaborate with port authorities, agents, and all operational stakeholders

• Maintain accurate and organized port cost and operations data

• Prepare internal cost reports and concise summaries for management review

• Provide guidance and support to new team members as the team expands

REQUIREMENTS:

• Fluent in English for effective communication

• Completed 4-year college degree (Business, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Customs, Engineering, or any related field)

• 3-5 years of proven experience in:

- Port authority operations

- Port agency (operations or billing)

- Marine operations (cruise or cargo)

- Terminal billing / port cost management

• Strong technical understanding of:

- Port dues, pilotage, towage, berthing, mooring

- Vessel call workflows and port service procedures

• High level of accuracy, analytical ability and attention to detail

• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)

• Proficiency in spreadsheets, structured data and operational documentation

• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a senior, responsible role

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with international port documentation

• Cost analysis or operational planning experience
