Job Description


The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company's only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager Tax to lead tax strategy, governance, and risk management for our Didipio operation. This is a key leadership role partnering with senior stakeholders to ensure strong compliance, robust decisionmaking, and longterm value creation.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Own and lead OGPI's overall tax strategy, risk profile, and governance standards
  • Provide strategic oversight of tax implications across operations, capital, and business decisions
  • Monitor and assess impacts of changes in Philippine tax law, regulation, and policy
  • Set and defend positions on complex or highrisk tax matters
  • Provide senior oversight of tax compliance and reporting, including BIR filings and tax provisions
  • Ensure audit readiness and act as the senior escalation point for audits, disputes, and regulators
  • Oversee engagement with regulators and external advisors
  • Integrate tax into Forecast, Budget, and Life of Mine planning
  • Challenge assumptions and ensure tax models are robust and defensible
  • Provide insight into tax impacts on cash flow, profitability, and longterm value
  • Lead and develop the tax team, building strong technical capability and accountability
  • Drive improvements in tax data, reporting quality, and process efficiency
  • Promote strong safety, health, and environmental practices across the team

This role suits a senior tax leader who enjoys operating at both strategic and handson levels, influencing outcomes in a complex operational environment.

Qualifications

Education & Professional Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in a commercial discipline such as Commerce, Law, or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification in accounting or business (CPA, MBA, or equivalent)

Experience

  • 10+ years experience in tax advisory and/or senior inhouse tax roles
  • Proven experience advising senior leaders on tax, financial reporting, and cash flow impacts
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to influence complex business decisions

Technical Knowledge

  • Indepth knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulatory requirements
  • Strong grounding in tax technical principles and interpretation
  • Working knowledge of PFRS and IFRS reporting obligations
  • Understanding of local business practices and regulatory environments

Skills & Capabilities

  • Ability to analyse complex tax matters and develop wellsupported positions
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate technical issues for executives
  • Experience preparing and reviewing position papers, memorandums, and executive summaries
  • Capability to identify and advise on taxrelated accounting issues and control weaknesses
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a highperforming tax team
