Job Description

The Senior Marketing Operations Manager is responsible for the systems, data, processes, and governance that enable DemandScience's marketing engine to operate at scale. This role ensures that marketing infrastructure is reliable, data is accurate, and teams are equipped to execute campaigns efficiently and measure impact confidently.

Reporting to the Vice President of Demand Generation, this is a hands-on, individual contributor role focused on marketing technology, lead lifecycle management, reporting, and operational excellence. The Marketing Operations Manager works closely with Demand Generation, Campaign Management, Revenue Operations, and Sales, but does not own campaign strategy or execution.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically fluent, proactive, and someone who thrives on building order, clarity, and scalability behind the scenes.

What You'll Be Doing

Own Marketing Systems & Infrastructure

  • Own day-to-day administration and optimization of marketing technology platforms, including marketing automation, CRM integrations, form tools, tracking, and attribution systems.
  • Ensure platforms are configured correctly to support campaign execution, reporting, and lead management needs.
  • Partner with RevOps to maintain clean integrations and shared system governance.

Lead Lifecycle & Data Quality Management

  • Own lead flow architecture, including intake, enrichment, routing, scoring, lifecycle stages, and handoff to Sales.
  • Monitor and maintain data quality across marketing and CRM systems, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Define and document lead and contact standards to ensure consistency across teams.

Reporting, Attribution & Insights Enablement

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide visibility into funnel performance, campaign impact, and data integrity.
  • Support Demand Gen and Campaign Managers with reliable performance data and operational insights.
  • Partner with RevOps on attribution models, pipeline reporting, and measurement standards.

Operational Enablement & Governance

  • Create and maintain documentation, playbooks, and SOPs for marketing operations processes.
  • Establish QA standards and operational checks to ensure campaigns are launched with accurate tracking and data capture.
  • Serve as the escalation point for operational issues related to systems, data, and reporting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Campaign Manager to ensure campaigns are operationally sound, properly tracked, and supported by the right infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Sales, SDR, and Revenue Operations teams to ensure alignment on lead definitions, SLAs, and reporting.
  • Support new tools, vendors, and process rollouts from an operational readiness standpoint.

Scale & Optimization

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve system reliability.
  • Evaluate new tools or enhancements that improve efficiency, data accuracy, or reporting clarity.
  • Support growth initiatives by ensuring the marketing ops foundation scales with volume and complexity.

What You Bring

  • 58 years of experience in B2B Marketing Operations, Revenue Operations, or Marketing Systems roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms and CRMs (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, Salesforce).
  • Deep understanding of lead lifecycle management, data governance, and funnel reporting.
  • Experience building dashboards, reports, and operational metrics that support Demand Gen teams.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Revenue Operations.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple operational priorities independently.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communicator who can translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

What This Role Is Not

To be explicit, this role does not own:

  • Campaign strategy or GTM planning
  • Channel execution (paid media, email, social, etc.)
  • Creative testing or performance optimization decisions

Those responsibilities sit with Demand Generation and Campaign Management. This role enables them.

Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Vice President of Demand Generation and collaborates closely with Campaign Management, Revenue Operations, Marketing stakeholders across the organization.
