We are seeking a seasoned Legal Senior /Counsel to provide strategic legal advice and support on all employment, labor, and workplace-related legal matters across the APAC region. This position will be based in Singapore, and the incumbent shall work closely with HR, management, and cross-functional stakeholders as an individual contributor to ensure compliance with employment laws, mitigate legal risks, and support business objectives.

We are seeking a seasoned Legal Senior /Counsel to provide strategic legal advice and support on all employment, labor, and workplace-related legal matters across the APAC region. This position will be based in Singapore, and the incumbent shall work closely with HR, management, and cross-functional stakeholders as an individual contributor to ensure compliance with employment laws, mitigate legal risks, and support business objectives.
Job Description
- Provide legal advice and support on employment, labor, and HR-related matters across APAC.
- Advise on employee relations, disciplinary actions, grievance handling, terminations, redundancies, and restructurings.
- Review, draft, and negotiate employment contracts, policies, handbooks, and related HR documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, employment regulations, and workplace policies in relevant APAC jurisdictions.
- Partner with HR and business leaders on investigations, disputes, litigation, and regulatory matters
- Work closely with HR team on compensation, benefits, long term incentives, executive employment, and senior management arrangements.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting employment practices in APAC and recommend policy updates.
- Work closely with external counsel where necessary and manage legal spend effectively.
- Support other general legal matters as required within the APAC region.
- Qualified lawyer in a relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience, with substantial experience in employment and labor law.
- Strong knowledge of APAC employment laws and HR compliance requirements, experience with China employment law will be an advantage.
- Prior in-house experience, particularly partnering closely with HR, is highly desirable.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.
- Ability to manage complex, sensitive employee matters with sound judgment and discretion.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a regional, fast-paced environment.
