Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The teaching of undergraduate & postgraduate students, research, and supervision of postgraduate students; organisational & management tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching undergraduate & postgraduate students.
Conducting research and supervision of postgraduate students
- Organisational & management tasks:
Assist with management tasks
Involvement in community engagement projects; subject specific societies; review of scholarly publications
Minimum Requirements
- A PhD (NQF level 10) in Mathematics with a focus on Functional Analysis, Algebra, Topology, Number Theory, Algebraic Geometry & Differential Geometry.
- A minimum of (3) years experience teaching undergraduate & postgraduate students at university level.
- Experience with postgraduate supervision.
- A proven research record with publications in accredited journals.
Added Advantages
- Membership with the South African Mathematical Society (SAMS) or American Mathematical Society (AMS).
- A minimum of three (3) years academic leadership experience including organisational & management tasks.

Remuneration
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
