IT. Senior Developer, Hedge Fund Accounting

About the department: Hedge Fund Accounting IT (HFA IT) department manages the core accounting platform(xeo) and data warehouse within Citco. The platform is used by clients globally and is the first true straight-through, proprietary front-to-back solution for hedge funds that uses a single database for all activities including order capture, position and P&L reporting and accounting. The position reports into Development Manager. About the Role:
- Develop and maintain features for the core accounting platform (xeo)
- Participate in technical design and code reviews
- Collaborate with team members on development of new modules
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Contribute to system documentation and knowledge base
- Support troubleshooting and bug fixing
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning
About You
- Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in either Information Systems or Computer Science
- Minimum 4 years of Java application development experience
- Strong Java development skills including:
- Core Java 8+
- Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC)
- JPA/Hibernate
- RESTful web services
- Microservices architecture
- Maven build tool
- Experience with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- Experience using Confluence, JIRA, and Git
- Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and their application
- Experience in building complex distributed systems
- Strong understanding of software development best practices
- Experience with cloud services
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in a financial services company is a plus
- Experience in using code assistant tools is a plus (GitHub Copilot)
- Working knowledge of AWS EC2, AWS Batch, AWS Cloudformation, AWS Step Functions is a plus
- Any formal cloud-based training and any industry cloud-related industry-accredited certification is a plus
- Experience with automation and automated testing is a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills including written and oral English
