Senior Finance Officer - Accounting (BGC, Taguig City)

About the role

J&T Express is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer - Accounting to join our finance team at our headquarters in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and compliance of our organization. As Senior Finance Officer, you will oversee accounting operations, manage financial reporting, and ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role is instrumental in supporting the company's financial planning, decision-making processes and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing and general ledger management
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and relevant accounting standards
• Manage bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions and consolidation processes
• Ensure accurate recording and classification of financial transactions across all operational units
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting policies, procedures and best practices
• Conduct regular audit preparation activities and liaise with external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes
• Monitor and maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Identify process improvements and implement control measures to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations
• Prepare management reports and provide financial analysis to support informed business decisions
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate with tax consultants on tax-related matters

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Commerce, Finance or a related field
• Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification is highly preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting roles, preferably within a corporate or logistics environment
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Comprehensive knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, tax regulations and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated expertise in preparing and analysing financial statements and management accounts
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving mindset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Filipino
• Experience with audit processes and internal controls is a valuable advantage
