Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our F&A team reporting to the Accounting Manager. This role will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial close process, with an emphasis on team collaboration, monthly account reconciliations, and audit readiness.
The Senior Accountant will work cross-functionally across global teams to ensure adherence to deadlines and compliance with accounting policies and procedures, while also supporting external audit requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, experience in multi-entity consolidations and month-end close, and a proactive approach to financial analysis and reporting.
Experience or familiarity with fund accounting concepts, complex legal entity structures, and organizational hierarchies is highly valued, as this role will regularly interact with multiple legal entities and support accurate financial reporting across the broader organizational structure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform the monthly consolidation of financial results across multiple entities (multi-currency).
- Prepare consolidated financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow.
- Ensure intercompany eliminations are accurate and reconciled.
- Support the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Monitor international teams to ensure monthly account reconciliations are completed accurately and timely.
- Act as a point of contact for international accounting teams, ensuring timely communication and resolution of reconciliation or close-related issues.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency through automation and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
- 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit schedules.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics knowledge a plus
Preferred:
- Experience in a multi-entity or multinational environment.
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional firm)
- Prior involvement in external audit engagements from the client side
- Ability to manage deadlines and hold cross-functional teams accountable.
- Exposure to fund accounting or investment-related accounting environments
- Understanding of legal entity structures, ownership hierarchies, and organizational charts within complex corporate or fund structures
- Experience using AI to enhance efficiency
