Main Activities and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)
Reports to Workshare Manager.
Assist the Senior lead as directed and as necessary.
If appointed as Project Manager, shall:
Prepare Project Quality Plan;
Organize and lead the Design Team, which may consist of Engineers, Checkers and Draftspersons;
Coordinate with client and consultant team;
Hold regular meetings with the Design Team to check on the work progress and any technical issues;
Ensure incorporation of agreed changes in drawings/specifications; and keep proper records of the changes and prepare
variation cost as necessary;
Carry out design; prepare/review project reports; ensure calculations/drawings/specifications are checked in accordance
with Project Quality Plan;
Ensure that the document control system is implemented;
Attend meetings as required
Prepares/self-checks reports/design in accordance with the project requirements and compliance to appropriate codes.
Checks proper works of subordinates as to accuracy and adherence to the structural design intent and assumptions.
Provide drawings/sketches for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by Technicians.
Ensures that the designs are correctly interpreted and represented in drawings.
Ensures markups are delivered to the drafting team in a timely manner
Reviews/incorporates comments of Design Checker.
Research design options and document findings
Review shop drawings
Collaborates and coordinates with team members and other disciplines
Attend and participate in WSP meetings as required
Perform quality design checks and drawing reviews as required
Organize, draft and coordinate technical documents and reports
Works towards continuous improvement of the team by utilizing standardized calculation systems
Carries out site inspections as instructed.
Undergoes relevant trainings as directed.
Comply with all role specific SHEQ obligations.
Apply legislations, standards, guidelines and project specifications.
Other duties as directed, to help company provide outstanding service to its customers

Qualifications
Qualifications (Minimum and Desirable):
Technical competence commensurate with a Senior Engineer's role.
A Registered Civil Engineer recognised by the relevant licensure regulatory board
Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Applications
Good English communication Skills
Management ability relative to management of workload, systems and junior staff.
Experience, Skills And Organisational Knowledge
Minimum 8 years experience in the design of multi-level residential, commercial and institutional projects
Experience in the design of both reinforced & post-tensioned concrete and structural steelwork
Experience in design software including RAPT, RAM Concept, Microstran, and ETABS
Has worked within an international design office and familiar with the Australian Standards is a plus
Ability to check documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
The ability to work as a team player, working with the wide variety of personalities and situations whilst remaining
professional and outcome focused.
The ability to work independently and to communicate clearly with clients, management team, office team members,
colleagues and consultants.
Attention to detail and the ability to follow up targets and deadlines to achieve outcomes.
Experienced in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of projects. Self-aware of limitations and when
should ask for help, balanced with confidence to proceed.
Basic use of BIM Software and how to use and review models
Demonstrated ability to apply safety in design processes on projects
Experience in monitoring and managing the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
Experienced in developing and maintaining client relationships
Experienced in applying QA and OH&S systems. Auditing of other more junior staff.
Contributed to building the technical capability of others and transferring technical expertise within the organization Developing experience in managing small teams
Active participation in IQBE initiatives and Discipline Plans
Working knowledge of WSP's organisational capability and how to access it.
Working knowledge of systems,procedures and practices
Working knowledge of organisational approach to risk management, ethics and safety.
