We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to design and documentation of low-voltage switchboards and associated electrical layouts.
Preparation of single-line diagrams (SLDs), control schematic, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and panel layouts for LV switchboards and control panels.
Develop and check detailed wiring diagrams, terminal schedules, and cable schedules.
Interpret and apply client specifications, load schedules, and project requirements into practical switchboard designs.
Review and verify all drawings and documentation for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with relevant standards and client requirements.
Coordinate with internal team (project managers and sales) to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
Prepare and maintain design standards, drawing templates, and CAD libraries for consistent output.
Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows, quality processes, and documentation.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
57 years proven experience in switchboard/switchgear design and documentation (LV panels, distribution boards, or similar).
Strong experience preparing SLDs, GAs, schematics, and panel layouts using CAD software (e.g.AutoCAD or equivalent).
Solid understanding of LV distribution systems and protection coordination.
Experience working with industry standards and codes (e.g.IEC, AS/NZS or equivalent regional standards).
Demonstrated experience liaising with clients, consultants, and manufacturing teams.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar 2D CAD platform) for electrical drawings.
Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for schedules, reports, and documentation.
Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications, single-line diagrams and control diagrams
High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.
Comfortable working remotely and managing tasks with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
Proactive problem-solver with the ability to make sound engineering judgments.
