KittySpout is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team!
As our bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate, up-to-date financial records across all sales channels, payment processors, and ad platforms. You'll own the bookkeeping operations and ensure clean, reliable financial data that leadership can actually make decisions from. You'll be working directly with the Finance Controller and founders, and your work will directly inform major business decisions.
We are looking to hire someone with 4+ years of work experience with DTC brands. The ideal candidate understands revenue reconciliation across Shopify, Stripe, Wise, PayPal, Amazon, ad platforms, refunds, chargebacks, COGS, inventory, and multi-currency transactions. You should be extremely detail-oriented, fast, and comfortable operating independently without hand-holding.

Key Objectives
- Maintain accurate, real-time bookkeeping across all platforms (Shopify, Wise, PayPal, Amazon, ad platforms).
- Ensure daily transaction accuracy, including sales, refunds, chargebacks, fees, taxes, and payouts.
- Deliver clean monthly books with zero surprises.
- Deliver monthly books within 5 days of month end
- Reconcile all accounts (bank, credit cards, processors) on a consistent schedule.
- Maintain accurate COGS, inventory, and landed cost tracking.
- Identify discrepancies early and resolve them proactively.
- Prepare monthly financial summaries that founders can trust to make decisions.
- Operate with high autonomy and minimal oversight.
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with founders regarding financial health, issues, or anomalies.
- Continuously improve bookkeeping systems, workflows, and accuracy as the business scales.
Requirements
- Fully remote.
- Fluent in English.
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience for DTC / e-commerce brands (non-negotiable).
- Deep understanding of Shopify, Stripe, PayPal, Amazon, refunds, chargebacks, and fees.
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar systems is helpful, but this role will operate primarily within our internal bookkeeping system.
- Proven experience reconciling high-volume transactions.
- Comfortable working with multi-currency transactions.
- Strong understanding of COGS, inventory accounting, and ad spend reconciliation.
- Highly detail-oriented with zero tolerance for sloppy numbers.
- Able to work independently without constant direction.
- Willing to work extra hours when needed (month-end, scaling periods).

KPI'S you will own
- 100% monthly reconciliation accuracy
- On-time month-end close
- Zero unresolved discrepancies older than 30 days
- Clean financials ready for CPA review at all times
- Deliver monthly books within 5 days of month end
Accountabilities
- Daily transaction categorization and reconciliation.
- Weekly review of payouts, fees, refunds, and chargebacks.
- Monthly bank, credit card, and processor reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate COGS and inventory records.
- Track ad spend across platforms and reconcile to financials.
- Prepare monthly financial summaries for leadership
- Flag issues, inconsistencies, or risks immediately.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready books at all times.
- Collaborate with founders and external accountants and agencies as needed.
Salary Expectation
$2.5k - $4k USD per month (based on experience and expertise) + performance bonuses tied to clean closes
