Role Summary
The Senior Developer is responsible for the end-to-end technical ownership of the client implementation on the ServiceNow platform, ensuring solution quality, performance, and adherence to best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical design and development of ServiceNow solution using App Engine and CSM components
- Own solution architecture, configuration standards, and coding guidelines
- Review and approve technical designs, scripts, integrations, and data models
- Guide developers and integration specialists during build and defect resolution
- Ensure minimal customization and maximum use of OOTB ServiceNow capabilities
- Support data migration and integration design decisions
- Coordinate with QA during SIT/UAT to resolve defects
- Support release planning, cutover, and go-live activities
- Configure and customize ServiceNow applications, including forms, lists, UI Policies, UI Actions, and workflows
- Develop, test, and maintain scripts such as Business Rules, Client Scripts
- Build and enhance automation using Flow Designer, including approvals and notifications
- Support Service Portal configuration, widgets, and basic portal customizations
- Assist in integration development using REST/SOAP APIs and outbound web services as required
- Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve defects identified during SIT and UAT
- Support data migration activities, including data load validation, reconciliation, and post-migration fixes
- Perform unit testing and support defect fixes during release cycles
- Participate in technical design discussions and provide input on feasibility and effort estimation
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, performance guidelines, security controls, and documentation practices
Qualifications
- 4–7 years (ServiceNow) experience, 3+ years in Lead role
- Strong ServiceNow App Engine, CSM, Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script knowledge and experience
- Experience with integrations (REST/SOAP, MID Server)
- Knowledge of ServiceNow security, roles, ACLs
- Experience in government / regulated environments is a plus
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow App Engine development
- Strong working knowledge of JavaScript and Glide API
- Experience with update sets, deployments, and environment management
- Practical experience in CSM modules implementations
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Customer Service Management (CSM): Required
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA): Required
- Hands-on experience in App Engine and CSM
- Exposure to ATF (Automated Test Framework) or AutomatePro
