Position Overview
The Azure Integration Consultant / Architect is responsible for designing, delivering, and governing enterprise integration solutions using Microsoft Azure Integration Services. The role supports organizations in connecting cloud, hybrid, and SaaS systems through secure, scalable, and resilient integration patterns.
Depending on experience and seniority, the role may focus on hands‑on delivery (Consultant) or architecture, standards, and strategic design (Architect). In both cases, the individual works closely with business stakeholders, application teams, security architects, and platform teams to ensure integration solutions are fit for purpose, sustainable, and aligned to enterprise architecture standards.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Design & Delivery
- Design and implement integration solutions using:
- Azure Logic Apps
- Azure Functions
- Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hubs
- Azure API Management
- Apply API‑led, message‑based, and event‑driven integration patterns
- Translate business and technical requirements into integration designs and implementations
- Support integrations across ERP, CRM, HR, Data platforms, and SaaS applications
Architecture & Standards (Architect Focus)
- Define integration architecture, patterns, and best practices
- Establish enterprise integration standards and reusable assets
- Ensure alignment with security, identity, networking, and governance policies
- Review and govern solution designs across multiple delivery teams
Quality, Operations & Support
- Implement monitoring, logging, error handling, and retry strategies
- Support testing, deployment, cutover, and post‑go‑live stabilization
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues
- Contribute to operational documentation and runbooks
Collaboration & Advisory
- Work with business, application, data, and platform teams
- Advise stakeholders on integration approach, tooling, and trade‑offs
- Mentor junior consultants and developers (Architect / Senior Consultant level)
Qualifications and Skills
Experience (Role Level Determination)
Azure Integration Consultant
- 6–8 years of overall IT experience
- 4–6 years of hands‑on Azure integration experience
- Strong delivery focus with proven implementation experience
Azure Integration Architect (Manager)
- 10–14+ years of overall IT experience
- 7–10+ years of Azure integration and solution architecture experience
- Proven experience defining enterprise integration strategies and standards
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in Azure Integration Services
- Experience with REST APIs, messaging, and event‑driven architectures
- Knowledge of data transformation, mapping, and integration patterns
- Understanding of Azure security, identity, networking, and DevOps concepts
- Experience integrating with enterprise and SaaS platforms
Preferred Qualifications (Key Certifications)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Integration Services or equivalent Azure certification
- Azure Developer Associate (Consultant)
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Architect)
- TOGAF or architecture certifications (Architect – desirable)
