Salary: Up to PHP 200,000

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer who enjoys building reliable, production-grade data pipelines for live operational systems — not just analytics platforms.

This role is ideal for engineers with strong OLTP expertise who are comfortable working directly with transactional databases, optimizing SQL performance, and building scalable Python-based pipelines within AWS environments.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will focus on designing and maintaining data pipelines for transactional systems. You will work closely with operational databases, production transformations, and cloud-native AWS services to ensure reliable and scalable data movement across systems.

This is not a traditional analytics engineering or BI-focused role. The team is specifically looking for candidates with strong experience in OLTP environments and application-side data systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain robust Python and SQL-based data pipelines for transactional systems
• Build and optimize relational schemas focused on normalized operational data models
• Perform query tuning and schema optimization on MySQL and AWS RDS platforms
• Implement production-grade data transformations using DBT
• Work within the AWS ecosystem, including RDS, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch
• Lead initiatives around data deduplication, identity resolution, and source-level data quality
• Support scalable and reliable movement of operational data across systems

Must-Have Qualifications

• Strong experience with OLTP databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience using Python for ETL/ELT or data pipeline development
• Advanced SQL skills, including optimization and complex query development
• Practical production experience with DBT (Data Build Tool)
• Strong AWS experience, particularly with RDS, S3, and CloudWatch
• Experience designing relational models for transactional systems
• Background in operational/application-side systems rather than analytics-only environments
• Willingness to work hybrid/on-site in Pasig or BGC and follow a UK mid-shift schedule
• Experience with data deduplication and identity resolution
• Exposure to AWS DMS
• Experience supporting ML workflows
• Experience working with multi-tenant platforms
