Senior Commercial Consultancy Manager, Makati

The project:
Provides commercial management and leadership, is people facing, comfortable with challenging situations with exec/client level internal/external stakeholders/leaders. Develops team strategies and implements, manages and monitors the delivery of team goals and KPIs. The individual develops their own and team strategies, implement, managing, monitoring them cradle to grave to deliver goals and performance KPIs. Provides team leadership on portfolio workstreams and initiatives. Works as part of wider commercial team and liaises with IPMO and Client Regional Teams, Commercial team and Project MDP and CDP supply chain.
You'll be responsible for:
  • Reports to (and deputizes for) Global IPMO Commercial Lead based in Hong Kong.
  • Has oversight of all IPMO commercial activity within region, including Capital Planning, Cost reporting, MDP commercial reporting, Procurement and Supply Chain and Cost benchmarking.
  • Will support robust financial and non-financial baselines and benchmarking metrics, using the client's historical data as validated by the market data, for successful control and assurance, by property and project types property and project fit-out standards at global, regional, and territory competitors and industry standards.
  • Supporting capital planning monthly portfolio capture and reviewing outputs where required.
  • Supporting the wider IPMO team on reporting solutions and/or improvements using Excel and/or Power BI where required.
  • Accountability for development of cost benchmarking tools, data and training.
  • Data governance on projects within the electronic portfolio management system (Planview) to support accurate cost benchmarking.
  • Undertaking internal and external cost benchmarking in relation to business case CAPEX validation and approval.
  • Support the development of client's Cost Breakdown Structure and standardized cost reporting and assist in its implementation across MDPs in all regions.
  • Advise, support and provide value management (including saves, identification of whole life value and sustainability performance and impact).
  • Undertake cost estimate tracking and forecasting in support of all capital spend and real estate strategies, create robust financial baselines and on-going measurement of actual performance for benchmarking by property and project types, property and project fit-out standard as required to demonstrate value to the bank using comparable analysis with market data with actual project examples.
  • Provide appropriate level of detailed information on the Project Cost Plan, Pre-tender Estimate, Regular Cost Reports, estimate of Change Requests and validate payment requests.
  • Work with the local MDP team to obtain Cost estimating and cost benchmarking reports or plans.
  • Assessing the contractor's and/or developer's cash flow statement showing the anticipated costs, milestones and income, deposits or payments validation of works complete and payments remain a key area of contract governance to ensure that client does not overpay.
  • Undertaking a full contract review to confirm all deliverable obligations have been executed and evidence has been filed, that the contractual governance and close out of obligations have been met.
  • Identify vertical and horizontal integration opportunities through the value management initiatives in the MDP and CDP supply chains (including develop the delivery supply chain that rationalizes and simplifies the responsiveness to the capital spend challenges such as risk, governance, time and local market support) in order to drive efficiencies and ensure that the solutions are appropriate to satisfy the intent.
  • Work with the client to identify and develop industry acceptable validation and certification solutions that can recognize and legitimize the performance of the supply chain with a particular lens on sustainability tracking.
  • Assess the suitability of the existing contracting structure and contract form used within the markets and advise on potential changes as would ensure that the appropriate model was in place to manage risk, time and cost across the programme.

  • Identifies key business/process improvements implementing improvement plans.
  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
