JOB SPECIFICATIONS
The Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Reliability Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for driving infrastructure redesign, migration initiatives, and system reliability improvements across the organization.
This role combines elements of Cloud/System Architecture and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), working closely with Infrastructure, Network, Security, and DevOps teams. The position requires strong technical depth in infrastructure and DevOps domains, along with the ability to plan, coordinate, and drive cross-functional initiatives. While not a people management role, this position provides technical leadership and ownership, ensuring infrastructure platforms are scalable, resilient, secure, and operationally reliable.
Duties and Responsibilities
Infrastructure Design & Modernization
- Lead infrastructure and system re-design initiatives to improve scalability, performance, and resilience.
- Review and validate architecture designs related to cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Ensure infrastructure solutions align with operational, security, and business requirements. Migration Initiatives
- Plan and coordinate infrastructure and platform migration activities (e.g., cloud migration, platform upgrades, modernization programs).
- Identify risks, define mitigation plans, and ensure controlled execution.
- Track and drive migration progress to successful completion. Site Reliability & Platform Stability
- Strengthen system reliability practices including monitoring, alerting, availability management, and performance testing.
- Act as technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and platform issues.
- Drive improvements in observability, incident prevention, and root cause resolution.
- Partner with DevOps teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure management practices support platform stability.
Technical Leadership & Governance
- Own the planning and coordination of cross-functional infrastructure initiatives.
- Provide technical direction and deep-dive reviews when needed.
- Align stakeholders (Infrastructure, Network, Security, DevOps) to ensure smooth execution.
- Promote best practices in infrastructure design and operational reliability
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
Work Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or site reliability roles.
- Experience participating in infrastructure redesign or migration initiatives.
- Experience supporting production cloud or hybrid environments.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation practices.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of cloud and infrastructure architecture (Azure, AWS, or similar).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD concepts.
- Knowledge of monitoring, performance testing, and observability tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and system-level problem-solving ability.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple technical teams.
- Ownership mindset with strong planning and follow-through capabilities.
- Good stakeholder communication and influencing skills.
Effort & Workload:
- Handles complex infrastructure and system design challenges requiring strong technical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Balances strategic infrastructure planning with hands-on technical reviews, troubleshooting, and migration support.
- Works across multiple initiatives related to infrastructure redesign, reliability improvements, and platform modernization.
- Plays a key role in ensuring stable and reliable platform operations.
Responsibility & Supervision:
- Individual contributor role with lead-level ownership over infrastructure and reliability initiatives.
- Accountable for technical quality and successful execution of assigned infrastructure and migration programs.
- Influences technical direction of cloud and infrastructure platforms through design reviews and solution recommendations.
