About the role
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will help shape products that drive social impact for people and organisations around the world. This role is the vital link between our business and technology functions, where you will gather business requirements and translate them into clear, detailed technical specifications consumed by our development team.
This role requires analytical rigour, technical acumen, and strong collaboration skills to analyse business needs, define well-scoped solutions, and support delivery through to release. You will work cross-functionally with Engineering, UX/UI, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure solutions are well-defined and continue to meet evolving business and customer needs.
Indicative salary: US$1,500/month
Key Responsibilities
- Business Requirements Elicitation and Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their business needs, pain points, and desired outcomes. Translate these requirements into clear, concise, and actionable technical specifications.
- Product Analysis: Analyse the existing platform against customer needs and market expectations, identify improvement opportunities, and translate them into feature enhancements.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements documents, functional specifications, technical designs, and user manuals.
- Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration: Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between business units and technical development teams.
- Process Mapping and Improvement: Analyse existing business processes and workflows. Recommend and implement improvements for efficiency, incorporating best practices and the capabilities of new software solutions.
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Actively engage in all phases of the SDLC, providing insight on the business implications of technical decisions, ensuring solutions meet functional requirements, and facilitating user acceptance testing.
- Data Analysis and Modeling: Leverage data to identify trends, optimisation opportunities, and potential issues within software systems. Drive insights using data or visualisations to support business recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a business analyst role.
- SaaS Experience: Experience analysing requirements for enterprise or multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyse complex business problems, identify root causes, and propose data-driven technology solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in gathering, documenting, and validating requirements to ensure the quality of developed solutions.
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Problem-solving and Decision-making: Strong aptitude for strategic problem-solving, weighing trade-offs, and driving solutions to meet business goals.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of software development principles, methodologies (Agile, Scrum), database systems, and web technologies.
- Product Ownership: Existing end-to-end product ownership experience is a strong advantage.
