Role Overview

We'relooking for an experiencedSenior Bookkeeperwith strongproficiencyinXero(and MYOB) to support our bookkeeping team. This is abackup/assistant roletothe Head Bookkeeperyou'llmanage your own client portfolio whileassistingin team oversight and supporting the team's growth.

Key Responsibilities

Team Support & Leadership Team Enablement Role

  • Provide support to the bookkeeping team and help ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Assistwith assigning client files based on skills, experience, and workload tooptimizeefficiency.
  • Maintain high quality and consistency across all deliverables.
  • Offer guidance, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to team members.
  • Contribute to refining workflows and documenting standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor team productivity and ensureaccuratetime-tracking viaClockify.
  • Support in addressing client inquiries or concerns that requireadditionalattention.

Client-Facing Bookkeeping Tasks

  • Weekly:Process and code transactions in Xero and MYOB; reconcile bank feeds, corporate cards, and supplier invoices; update client file statuses and communicate progress.
  • Fortnightly:Process payroll (STP-compliant); reconcile PAYG and superannuation; lodge timesheets if applicable.
  • Monthly:Finalizereconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and loans; generate and review management reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, etc.); prepare BAS-ready reports;monitorcash flow and unpaid invoices.
  • Quarterly & Annually:Prepare/review BAS, FBT, GST, and payroll compliance; generate quarterly client performance summaries; support client accountants with year-end working papers and EOFY payroll reports; archive completed files and ensure documentation compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, preferably with Australian clients.
  • At least 1 year of experience supervising or mentoring team members is a plus.
  • Strong technicalproficiencyin Xero (Xero Payroll, Xero Practice Manager) and MYOB (AccountRight or Essentials).
  • Knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, payroll, and compliance requirements.
  • Comfortable in client-facing interactions via calls, emails, andZoom.

Home Office Requirements

  • Stable power supply and internet (minimum 10 Mbps).
  • Workingcomputer/laptop with at least 8GBRAM and Microsoft Office.
  • Quiet, professional home office suitable for client calls and team meetings.

Working Hours

  • Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM PH Time (1-hour unpaid lunch).
  • Track all work hours inClockify, specifying time spent on each task.
  • Short tea breaks allowed (2 x 15 mins daily) with prior notice to supervisors.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Rate: 250/hr(non-billable work)
  • Premium Rate: 450/hr(billable work)
  • Expected annual base salary: 936,000 (excluding commissions, assuming full 40-hour weeks).
  • Fortnightly payroll in PHP via Security Bank.
  • Opportunities for salary progression after 6-month probation and achieving KPIs.
