Position: Senior Automation Test Engineer
Office Location: UnionBank Plaza - Ortigas, Pasig City
Job Summary: Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced automation frameworks and scripts to enhance test coverage and efficiency. They possess expertise in multiple automation tools and programming languages, enabling them to create robust and reusable test automation solutions. By integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, they ensure continuous validation of application functionality and stability. They also mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and contribute to improving automation strategies and methodologies. Additionally, they collaborate with development and QA teams to enhance test automation coverage and drive improvements in software quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks and scripts using tools like TOSCA, Selenium, Appium, or Playwright.
- Write, optimize, and maintain complex automation scripts using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Integrate automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring continuous feedback on code changes.
- Develop and implement reusable and modular automation frameworks to improve maintainability and scalability.
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting and debugging of automation script failures, resolving complex issues efficiently.
- Independently create and execute automated test cases for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage by designing automation solutions for different platforms (web, mobile, API, cloud-based applications).
- Mentor junior automation engineers by providing technical guidance, reviewing scripts, and sharing best practices.
- Document automation strategies, frameworks, and test execution results to maintain clarity and traceability.
- Stay updated on emerging test automation technologies and continuously improve automation approaches.
Required Skills:
- Typically has 3-5 years in test automation, with solid knowledge of tools like TOSCA, Selenium, or Appium.
- Proficient in creating and executing automated tests, customizing scripts, and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Able to work independently while applying best practices to enhance test coverage and efficiency.

- Test Automation Framework Design
- Advanced Programming (Java, Python, JavaScript)
- CI/CD & DevOps Practices for Automation
- API Testing & Automation (Postman, RestAssured)
- Mobile Test Automation (Appium)
- Fundamentals of Testing
Certifications:
- ISTQB Foundation Level- Preferred but not required
- ISTQB Test Automation Engineer - Preferred but not required
- Certified Selenium Tester Foundation (ISTQB) - Preferred but not required
- Tricentis Tosca Automation Specialist (at least AS1) - Highly preferred but not required
- AWS Certified Developer Associate (for cloud automation) - Highly preferred but not required
- GitHub/GitLab CI/CD Certification- Highly preferred but not required
