SENIOR AUDITOR

Location: Manila
Work Arrangement: Onsite, Fulltime
Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM | Monday - Friday

About this role. . .

The Senior Auditor is responsible for supervising and completing audit assignments. In the absence of a Supervisor, the Senior is the primary point of contact and control on the audit. This role is responsible for using sound judgement and initiative in managing and planning workflow, and completing tasks set within time and budgetary constraints. The Senior will provide advice and expertise to Directors across the firm where required, utilising these opportunities to build their own referral network. The Senior will display a commitment to learning & development and the firm's vision & culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits in line with the organisation's audit approach, applying audit risk model, materiality, and sampling
  • Stay updated on audit procedures and manage small to medium audit jobs
  • Understand all audit file sections and requirements
  • Identify risks and propose audit strategies with managers/directors
  • Plan assignments: set timetables, allocate staff, budget time/cost, liaise with clients
  • Prepare audit planning documents and ensure cost-effective techniques
  • Allocate tasks, provide clear instructions, and monitor progress against deadlines and budgets
  • Train and support staff on audit processes and standards
  • Maintain quality of work papers and compliance with the organisation's standards
  • Review work papers, consolidate management letter points, and finalize audit files
  • Prepare financial statements and representation letters; ensure all confirmations
  • Participate in client clearance meetings and assist with billing
  • Build and maintain professional client relationships
  • Understand client business, provide process improvement advice, and identify additional service opportunities
  • Delegate tasks, guide junior staff, provide feedback, and mentor for development
  • Conduct training sessions as needed
  • Maintain accurate timesheets and meet productivity targets
  • Manage tasks efficiently and understand chargeable vs non-chargeable time
  • Continuously build skills, seek feedback, set career goals, and attend training sessions
  • Participate in meetings, resolve issues proactively, and contribute to business development
  • Uphold the organisation's vision and culture

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years Audit experience in an AU Accounting/Audit firm
  • CPA Qualified
  • Completed a related degree in accounting
  • Computer and technology savvy. Good level of ability in operating the software used across the firm, such as APS, MYOB, Xero, Caseware, U-track, Microsoft Office
  • Good understanding of accounting standards and reporting responsibilities
  • Abreast of technical issues such as changes to legislation and/or its application, changes in reporting requirements, etc.
  • Able to use good analytical techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Good understanding of business and commercial acumen
  • Provides high-level service delivery to clients
  • Highlights new business opportunities to Managers/Directors
  • Respectfully contributes ideas and perspective
  • Takes initiative to find a solution
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills
  • Expresses innovative ideas
  • Works effectively with different people and assists junior team members as required
  • Cooperate with Managers/Directors in efforts towards effective teamwork and engagement
