The Senior AI & Automation Engineer will design, develop, and implement automations, dashboards, and AI solutions that reduce manual effort, improve data visibility, and build long-term automation capability. This role is designed for an experienced professional who can bridge business operations and technical execution. With strong Python, Power BI, and ERP integration skills, the AI & Automation Lead will drive transformation and continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities:
- Automation Design and Delivery: Design and implement automation solutions across Epicor, RFMS, BizTrack, and Microsoft Dynamics GP to streamline operational workflows and reduce manual touchpoints.
- Analytics and Reporting: Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and datasets for financial and operational analytics, including data modeling, DAX measures, and refresh pipelines.
- Engineering and Tools: Develop Python-based automations and AI utilities for ETL, API integration, document parsing, and task automation.
- Prioritization and Partnership: Collaborate with managers and stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and scope high-impact automation and AI opportunities.
- Standards and Governance: Establish and enforce standards for documentation, version control, integration patterns, testing, and deployment.
- Enablement and Knowledge Transfer: Train and mentor internal teams on Power Platform, automation best practices, and safe, effective use of AI/LLM tools.
Required Experience and Expertise:
- AI and Automation Tools: Familiarity with AI/LLM tools for process automation and document parsing; experience applying them to real business workflows.
- ERP Integrations: Proven experience integrating multiple ERP systems and third-party applications.
- Python Proficiency: Proficient in Python for ETL, API integration, scripting, and automation.
- Power BI Expertise: Strong skills in data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and building maintainable Power BI datasets and reports.
- Power Platform Experience: Hands-on experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, and Logic Apps.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Ability to translate technical tradeoffs to business leaders and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Preferred: Expert-level Python, Microsoft Fabric/Azure Data Factory/Databricks experience, Git and API frameworks (FastAPI, Streamlit), domain experience in manufacturing/distribution/building products, and knowledge of pricing optimization or operations analytics.
Education and Certifications
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- Preferred: Master's degree or certifications in Power Platform, Azure AI, Data Engineering, or related disciplines.
