Job Title: Senior Accounting Manager

Salary Range: Php 100,000 to Php 130,000
Job Summary
The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions of the logistics operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Philippine regulations, and effective financial controls. This role manages accounting staff, supports business decision-making, and works closely with operations, finance, and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with PFRS
- Ensure timely and accurate management reports for senior leadership
- Analyze financial performance, costs, and margins specific to logistics operations (freight, warehousing, transport)
Taxation & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with BIR requirements, including VAT, withholding taxes, income tax, and other statutory filings
- Manage tax audits, BIR examinations, and coordinate with external auditors
- Oversee compliance with SEC, PEZA (if applicable), LGUs, and other regulatory bodies
- Monitor updates in Philippine tax laws and accounting standards
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Lead budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Monitor logistics-related costs such as fuel, freight charges, port fees, demurrage, and warehouse expenses
- Implement cost control measures to improve operational efficiency and profitability
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Establish and maintain strong internal control systems
- Review and improve accounting processes, policies, and procedures
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for logistics transactions
- Support ERP or accounting system implementation and enhancements
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Coordinate with operations, procurement, sales, and finance teams
- Act as key accounting contact for external auditors, banks, and government agencies
- Provide guidance to management on accounting and financial implications of business decisions
Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
Experience
- 57 years of progressive accounting experience
- At least 35 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Prior experience in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, transportation, or warehousing is highly preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of PFRS and Philippine tax regulations
- Experience handling BIR audits and external audits
- Proficiency in accounting systems/ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
