Senior Accounting Manager

Position: Full-time

Location: Philippines (Remote)

Schedule: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM PST, Monday through Friday (Full-time)

We are in search of a Senior Accounting Manager who will lead our growing team and work with our clients based in the United States. We are a Fractional Controllership, CFO, and end-to-end accounting firm servicing home service and construction businesses. This is a unique company boasting a 13-year track record of success in the Philippines and a culture built on longevity and warmth.

We are currently in a strategic growth phase, scaling our team from 15 to 30 members. We are looking for a Big Picture leader who prioritizes coaching and team development over task execution. You will own the entire client delivery process, ensuring our promise of excellence is met while fostering a culture of psychological safety and professional growth. Job Duties:

In this role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Strategic Team Leadership & Scaling

• Growth Management: Lead and mentor a team currently at 15, with a strategic roadmap to scale to 30 by year-end.
• Organizational Structure: Oversee the Pod Structure (5-6 accountants per pod) to ensure workload redundancy, psychological safety, and burnout prevention.
• Mentorship: Publish and manage clear career tracks for all direct reports within the first 90 days to drive retention and professional growth with support from HR.
• Cultural Liaison: Bridge cultural and operational gaps between US and Philippines-based teams, leading with influence and empathy.

Operational Excellence & Client Delivery

• Close Management: Own the end-to-end client delivery process, guaranteeing zero late monthly closes.
• Utilization & Efficiency: Manage and optimize the balance of billable vs. non-billable hours across the team to ensure firm profitability and operational efficiency.
• Service Standards: Maintain a high standard of responsiveness, ensuring all client inquiries are addressed within a two-hour window.
• Workload Optimization: Lead daily huddles and weekly capacity planning sessions to balance workloads across pods.
• Process Leadership: Drive accountability through influence and coaching rather than micromanagement.

High-Level Financial Management

• Financial Strategy: Oversee the development of financial models, project budgets, and cash flow forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Project Oversight: Manage the integrity of project cost accounting, specifically WIP reporting and job costing, ensuring accuracy across all construction projects.
• Reporting & Compliance: Guarantee the absolute accuracy of weekly, monthly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards.
• Liquidity & Treasury: Optimize working capital and recommend improvements to cash management and liquidity processes.

Audit, Risk & Systems

• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company and client assets.
• Audit Coordination: Lead the coordination of external audits and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor transaction tracing and system workflows to identify and correct discrepancies before they impact the client.
• Tool Optimization: Leverage QBO, ClickUp, and other firm-specific tools to maximize team efficiency and reporting clarity.

About You:

Core qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Senior Accounting Manager.
• Proven experience building and scaling accounting teams and managing career tracks.
• Efficiency Expert: Experience in managing team utilization and billable/non-billable hour ratios.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA is a plus).
• Goal-oriented, action-oriented, and a Big Picture thinker.

Skills & Preferences:

• Construction Industry experience is highly preferred (WIP and Job Costing).
• Proficiency with project management software (ClickUp preferred).
• Knowledge of industry tools like Adaptive, JobTread, or Melio is a plus.
• Excellent Excel skills and proficiency with the full Google Suite.
• Impeccable English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to lead with warmth and empathy in a high-pressure industry.
