Job Description

The Senior Manager Accounting (General Ledger) is responsible for overseeing the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the company's general ledger and financial close processes. This role leads the GL team, ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and partners with cross-functional teams to support accurate financial reporting and business decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end general ledger operations, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (e.g., PFRS/IFRS or US GAAP).
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments for completeness and accuracy.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the General Ledger team, ensuring clear roles, performance standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive standardization and automation of accounting processes to improve efficiency and controls.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support audit requirements.
  • Partner with Tax, FP&A, AP, AR, and Operations to resolve accounting issues and ensure data integrity.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and assess their impact on financial reporting.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy; CPA is required or strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1012 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or senior leadership role.
  • Strong background in general ledger accounting and financial close in a complex or shared services environment.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent).
  • Exposure to multinational or multi-entity reporting is a strong advantage.
