We are seeking aSenior Accounting Associatewith strong technical accounting foundations and the ability to independently own accounting workstreams for US-based clients. This role goes beyond routine bookkeeping and requires the application of professional judgment, clients problem-solving, and hands-on involvement in financial reporting and advisory engagements.
The ideal candidate has experience in accounting, audit, or advisory/consulting environments and is comfortable operating with minimal supervision while contributing to financial statement-level conclusions.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage assigned accounting workstreams for US-based clients, including end-to-end ownership of deliverables.
- Apply technical accounting judgment in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including assessment of accounting treatments, estimates, and financial statement impacts.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules for monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.
- Perform complex transactions and identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies.
- Lead and execute account clean-ups, reconciliations, and system transitions, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness.
- Support or contribute to audit, advisory, or consulting engagements, including preparation of audit-ready workpapers and financial analyses.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on assigned engagements such as communicating issues, recommendations, and progress clearly and professionally.
- Identify accounting issues, risks, or inefficiencies and proactively propose practical solutions or process improvements.
- Review work prepared by junior team members and provide technical guidance and feedback when needed.
- Utilize accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online/Desktop and Xero, with the ability to troubleshoot data and system-related issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy (BSA)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred but not required
- 5 to 7 yearsof progressive accounting experience with exposure to accounting advisory, external audit and financial reporting.
- Strong working knowledge ofUS GAAP, including financial statement presentation and disclosures.
- Demonstrated ability to move beyond task execution and exercise professional judgment.
- Comfortable working independently and owning deliverables from start to finish.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and accountable, with a consulting or problem-solving mindset.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Available to start immediately or within a short notice period
- Preferably residingnear or within Metro Manila
