Job Title: Senior Accountant (UK)

Job Overview:

This role is responsible for accurate financial statement preparation, month-end and year-end closings, and ensuring full compliance with UK accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP) as well as the applicable local GAAP for each European jurisdiction. The Senior Associate works closely with the UK/ Local Accountants and the Associate Director to oversee daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly finance and accounting operations for multiple sub-clients. The role also involves mentoring junior staff, coordinating audits, handling complex reconciliations, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and financial accuracy.

Work Schedule:

2:00 PM 11:00 PM Manila Time (with the possibility of shifting to 10AM 7PM in the future) | Monday to Friday

HYBRID | One Ayala, Makati City

What You'll be doing:

Transactional Accounting & Reconciliations:

• Execute AP, AR, and banking transactions within Xero, NetSuite, and Medius.
• Maintain clean and reconciled ledgers at all times;

Month-End, Quarter-End & Year-End Close

• Prepare and post journals as instructed, including payroll journals, accruals, and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet and P&L reconciliations to agreed templates.
• Support the month-end close to agreed deadlines while ensuring audit-ready documentation and clear working papers.

Management Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare monthly/quarterly management reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of client accounting records.
• Prepare VAT returns, local tax returns (e.g., City Tax, SII where applicable), year-end working papers, and other annual compliance reports.

What will make you a great fit:

• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while overseeing multiple sub clients and complex engagements.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification preferred; audit experience is an advantage.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit-related work.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards, statutory accounts preparation, and tax regulations.
• Experience in team leadership or support, mentoring, and quality assurance, including helping in managing escalations and overall engagement delivery.
