Senior Accountant — Where Precision Meets Real Impact
Some accountants just keep the books. You keep them
clean, compliant, and constantly getting better. We're looking for a Senior Accountant to own the balance sheet and general ledger — making sure everything ties out to US GAAP and corporate policy, while spotting the process improvements that make the whole function run leaner.
If you take genuine pride in a reconciliation that balances to the cent — and can't help asking why do we do it this way — keep reading.
What You'll Own
You'll be at the heart of the financial close — preparing month-end journal entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and keeping every financial record accurate. You'll support financial statement preparation and internal reporting, monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions, and review and validate resale certificates for tax compliance.
You'll be the go-to during audits — internal and external — providing the documentation and analysis that keep things moving, and ensuring everything stays compliant with GAAP and internal policy. You'll collaborate across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Tax, and you'll never stop looking for ways to sharpen the general ledger function.
And because the business is growing and changing, you'll stay adaptable — taking on new responsibilities, special projects, and stepping in wherever timely, accurate accounting is needed.
You'll thrive here if you have
Non-negotiables
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ years accounting experience for US-based companies
- A strong general accounting background — journal entries (accruals, prepayments, bank transactions), fixed asset accounting, payroll accounting, balance sheet reconciliation
- Comfort with 3–10 journal entries a day during month-end close
- Experience preparing 5–15 balance sheet reconciliations per month
- Solid monthly book-closing experience
- Experience across at least two accounting ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, PeopleSoft, Xero, High Radius, etc. — combinations like QuickBooks + SAP, QuickBooks + Oracle NetSuite, QuickBooks + MS Dynamics, QuickBooks + PeopleSoft, or QuickBooks + High Radius all work)
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Superb attention to detail, strong planning, and excellent organisation
- The flexibility to juggle shifting priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Flexible / nice to have
- CPA (preferred, not required)
- International experience — especially UK, France, and Germany — including multiple entities, foreign transactions, multiple currencies, and non-US accounting standards
- Oracle EBS or a similar major ERP
- Strong Excel skills (advanced formulas a plus)
- Exposure to financial system tools like Blackline, Hyperion/Smartview, Tableau
- Experience supporting US-based companies and applying resale tax certificates in multi-state environments
The kind of person who fits
Self-motivated and solutions-oriented, with high energy and a team-first attitude. Diligent about quality and reducing errors, efficient at getting things done on time, and naturally inquisitive — the type who asks the right questions to truly understand the data. You build relationships easily across teams and bring calm, organised focus to everything you touch.
Why you'll love it
This is accounting with room to grow. You'll own meaningful work, have real influence over how the function operates, and get the variety of a business that's evolving fast. Precision matters here — and so does the person behind it.
If you're ready to bring your best numbers game to a team that values it, let's talk.
