Duties For An Senior Level
- Technical skills
- Perform a detailed review of tasks, including but not limited to Invoicing, Bills, Payroll, Financials, and Ad hoc tasks, effectively and efficiently.
- Facilitate financial walkthroughs and other client calls.
- Understand the business entity, its nature, and tax type.
- Understand the structure and best practices of financial accounting for each business entity type.
- Ability to ask the right questions to the client.
- Provide advice on resolving abnormal balances in Financials.
- Spearhead improvements in existing processes.
- Develop new processes applicable to clients.
- Ability to escalate critical situations to the manager regarding the engagement.
- Connect with third parties like payroll/retirement providers, state, and federal agencies.
- Ability to resolve Internal Revenue Service (IRS) notices related to payroll.
- Manage month-end close to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Save 1099s and other reports in a secured portal for clients reference.
- Communicate recommendations for proper equity presentation based on entity type.
- Ability to assess the effectiveness of process workflows and documentation.
- Consistently implement process improvements.
- Support clients in solving technical accounting issues.
- Able to anticipate clients questions/requests and prevent any concerns.
- Ability to collaborate with different departments.
- Prepare financial modeling and budgeting if applicable.
- Understand profitability per engagement.
- Perform one-off reviews of tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to handle high-level review and analytics.
- Client Management
- Communicate with the client for data transfers.
- Ability to assess the client's engagement scope of service and identify out-of-scope tasks, advising the client on additional scope if needed.
- Ability to assess budgeted hours per task and service complexities.
- Ability to prepare proposals for new and existing clients service renewals.
- Project management of engagements using project management tools.
- Supervise data gathering and organization.
- Proactively communicate with clients for value-add services.
- Ability to handle and manage multiple client engagements.
- People management and development
- Review and approve Paid Time Off (PTO) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) requests of subordinates.
- Ability to review and assess time spent by the subordinates and make recommendations based on the analysis.
- Goal setting, performance tracking, and assessment for subordinates.
- Ability to supervise accountants and monitor their career growth.
- Lead by example to subordinates by maintaining compliance at all times.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Preferably CPA but not required
- With a minimum of 5 years of significant accounting experience and has at least 1 year exposure in managing people
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
