Senior Accountant

About the Role

We're looking for a full-cycle Senior Accountant to embed inside the lean, fully outsourced finance function of a US-based, private-equity-backed company. An interim finance resource is currently in place, and you'll take ownership of the day-to-day accounting and senior-level finance work so finance leadership can focus on higher-priority initiatives.

This is a dedicated full-time seat, not a fractional or gig arrangement. Transaction volumes are manageable for one capable person, so the priority is accuracy, strong controls, and reliable execution rather than raw throughput.

What You'll Do

Core Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Own the day-to-day books: journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and data entry
• Execute cleanly across the full transaction cycle, keeping records accurate and audit-ready
• Apply GAAP rigor appropriate to a lean finance function

Process & Systems Cleanup

• Resolve messy or inconsistent sales invoicing
• Improve data mapping between the accounting platform (QuickBooks) and the ERP system
• Close gaps in payment tracking and clean up processes where oversight has been lacking

Controls & Visibility

• Maintain strong controls and clear visibility into work in progress
• Surface issues early and keep finance leadership informed of where things stand

What We're Looking For

Non-Negotiables

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Experience supporting private-equity-backed companies, particularly similarly sized businesses with limited internal finance staff and outsourced finance operations
• Strong day-to-day bookkeeping and staff-accountant capabilities across journal entries, AP, AR, invoicing, and data entry
• QuickBooks experience
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and reliable execution
• Comfortable working in a lean, outsourced finance environment with enough rigor to support the function
• Availability to work East Coast (US) business hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems and improving data mapping between accounting and ERP platforms
• Working knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting controls
• Background supporting a lower-mid-market manufacturing or product-based business
• Experience cleaning up messy invoicing and accounting processes
• Comfort using technology and AI-enabled tools to work efficiently in a cost-conscious model
