Senior Accountant

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team on a full-time basis. This role will play a key role in supporting several Australian small businesses by keeping their accounts accurate, up to date and compliant.

Day-to-Day Tasks Include:

• Bank reconciliations and account maintenance across multiple client files
• Direct communication with clients to query and clarify transactions
• Assisting with the preparation of quarterly BAS lodgements
• Month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of management reports
• Tracking and processing wholesale rebate claims
• Monthly payroll processing
• Assisting management team with budgeting and forecasting
• Monthly P&L variance and cashflow analysis
• Monitoring and follow up of unpaid invoices
• Processing supplier invoices
• Ad hoc sales and inventory reporting

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Proven bookkeeping/accounting experience with Australian companies
• Strong knowledge of Xero (experience with add-ons a plus)
• Understanding of Finance/Accounting concepts and processes
• Understanding of BAS, GST and general Australian bookkeeping practices
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Reliable internet connection and a proactive, client-focused attitude
• Prior experience in e-commerce and wholesale sales channels highly regarded
