What You'll Do
People Leadership (Core to this Role)
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Junior Accountants. Setting clear expectations, providing day-to-day guidance, and creating an environment where they can grow and thrive
- Conduct regular check-ins and performance conversations to support team members professional development
- Delegate tasks effectively, manage team workloads, and ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality
- Act as the first point of escalation for your team, helping them work through complex accounting issues with confidence
Client & Technical Accounting
- Supervise and review monthly reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of transactions and resolve discrepancies
- Review vendor invoices and expense reports for accuracy and timeliness in recording payables and payments
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and responding to payroll queries promptly
- Prepare financial reports and analysis for management, delivering actionable insights and recommendations
- Ensure compliance across IAS, BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, and Payment Summary requirements
What You'll Bring

- A coaching mindset: patient, clear in your communication, and invested in others success
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CA or CPA qualification preferred
- Solid experience in a similar role, ideally in a fast-paced, multi-client environment
- Strong working knowledge of Australian accounting practices, including BAS/GST/FBT
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks)
- Excellent analytical skills and sharp attention to detail
