The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries and maintaining the Company's general ledger and third-party transactions, assisting in the designing controls for the Company's SOX program. Responsible for ad-hoc accounting, internal controls, and regulatory/compliance, and technical research and analyzing accruals and performing reconciliations.
As a Senior Accountant, you will:
- Post journal entries
- Reconcile GL accounts, inclusive of, clearing any reconciling items
- Prepare various month-end schedules to assist with closing the books
- Prepare various quarter-end SEC schedules
- Prepare various quarter-end Call Report schedules
- Review GL accounts and wbs for reasonableness
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
- Assist with correcting problems discovered with the posting of loan activity
- Maintain records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
- Create reports on financial performance for internal and external use.
- Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management and tax, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities.
- Ensure accuracy, validity, and completeness of all documentation necessary to meet organizational, industry, and government regulatory requirements.
- Research technical accounting issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least five (5) years experience in accounting role
- Candidates holding a CPA license are highly desirable.
- Knowledge in SOX, U.S. GAAP
- With functional knowledge of operational systems.
- Ability to prepare information for regulatory and SEC reporting.
