Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fixed Assets Manager to lead the global fixed assets function within our Shared Services organization. This role is responsible for overseeing asset accounting, capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and international accounting standards. The position will partner closely with regional finance teams, auditors, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fixed Assets Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee end-to-end fixed asset lifecycle: acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, transfer, and retirement
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed assets subledger to the general ledger
  • Review journal entries, asset registers, and depreciation runs

2. Global Process Ownership

  • Act as global process owner for fixed assets across multiple regions
  • Standardize and optimize processes within the Shared Services model
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives

3. Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Maintain strong internal controls over asset accounting and reporting
  • Support internal and external audits, including SOX compliance

4. Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with regional finance teams, FP&A, procurement, and operations
  • Provide guidance on capitalization policies and asset treatment
  • Act as escalation point for complex asset accounting issues

5. Systems & Data Management

  • Manage fixed assets modules in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Ensure data integrity and proper asset classification
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, or implementations

6. Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of fixed asset analysts
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular coaching and feedback
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • 7–10+ years of experience in fixed assets or general accounting
  • At least 3 years in a leadership role within Shared Services or BPO
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and asset accounting principles
  • Experience in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in global or multi-country operations
  • Exposure to process transitions or migrations into Shared Services
  • Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., RPA, BlackLine)
  • Strong project management and process improvement mindset
