As the Seed Cost Analyst, the primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with the Seed Operations Function (SPO) and Finance Teams. This position will report to the Costing Manager. It is expected to be mobile and willing to travel to different locations within SPD; SS/FS.
The role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the SPO in commercial decision-making, specifically with regards to seed cost and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Contributions will play a vital role in the success and growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining accounts payable records
- Responsible for managing the payable accounts, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions, and monitoring payment deadlines.
Invoice processing and reconciliation
- Process invoices received from suppliers and vendors, verifying accuracy and ensuring proper reconciliation with purchase orders and delivery receipts.
Vendor management
- Assist in maintaining effective vendor relationships by addressing any payment or invoicing issues, and maintaining accurate vendor records.
Financial analysis
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support the SPO Heads in making effective commercial decisions. This may involve analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and identifying areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
Compliance and documentation
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies, maintaining proper documentation for audits and financial reporting.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the Seed Operations Function and Finance Teams to gather relevant financial information, provide support, and contribute to overall financial planning and decision making processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Commerce or a related field.
- Preferably has at least 3 years of practical experience working in the relevant field,
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in computer application and accounting software
- Strong written and oral communication
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving techniques
