Job Description

Company Overview:

UBX is a wholly owned subsidiary of Unionbank of the Philippines. UnionBank is a top 10 universal bank in the Philippines by assets, with annual revenues of over PHP 25 Billion. UnionBank is a leader in digital financial services and has been recognized as the top digital bank in the Philippines by Asiamoney and IDC. UnionBank has established UBX to build on its leadership in digital: UBX facilitates UnionBank's exploration and creation of new, digital and potentially non-banking business models.

UBX's mission includes investments in financial technology (fintech) companies and other ventures whose capabilities complement UBX's platform development. UBX is developing platforms that embed financial services into customer and business experiences. This results in financial services that are accessible to a broader community – physically, logically and economically. UBX invests to positively and materially impact financial inclusion.

Truly innovative financial technology should make banking perfectly transparent in the lives of consumers and businesses. When we talk about banking today, we still talk about accounts, lines of credit and cash management services. Banking still distracts and interrupts. Our ultimate goal: banking that becomes invisible, banking vanishes into our lives and businesses. This is why we are particularly focused on ecosystems: can we participate in and build the platforms where we can seamlessly embed banking in the context of experiences for consumers and businesses.

Our Customers:

Ecosystems are built on platforms that support multi-participant markets and multi-point transactions. Therefore, from an ecosystem development perspective, our customers are the participants in these ecosystems.

This can be made clearer by way of example. For the financial services platform, the resulting ecosystem has the following participants:

● Financial institutions such as rural bank and non-bank financial institutions (coops, lenders, etc.)

● Customers of these financial institutions

● Financial service providers that leverage the platform such as lenders and insurers

● Technology providers that build solutions on top of the platform

Security Automations Engineer

Seeking a Security Automations Engineer to drive the design and implementation of AI-powered automation solutions across its information security domains. This is a high-impact project hire role that sits at the intersection of security engineering and emerging technology, with a mandate to accelerate the bank's adoption of Generative and Agentic AI.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in security process automation, AI tooling, and Microsoft ecosystem integrations. They will work closely with the Head of Customer Identity and Security Innovations to identify, scope, and deliver automation initiatives to reduce manual effort, strengthen security posture, and lay the groundwork for broader AI-driven transformation across the organization. This role offers meaningful ownership of a strategic initiative in a growing digital bank, with direct visibility to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Agentic AI & Copilot Implementation

  • Lead the technical design and implementation of Agentic AI pilot use cases using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, MS Azure, Claude, and other AI tools.
  • Build and configure AI agents and automated workflows for security process use cases.

Security Process Automation

  • Analyze existing security workflows and processes to identify inefficiencies, manual bottlenecks, and high-value automation opportunities across all information security domains.
  • Develop scripts, APIs, and integrations to connect disparate security tools and create a unified, interoperable security ecosystem with improved visibility.
  • Automate security reporting for stakeholders including executive management, compliance teams, and internal/external auditors, reducing turnaround time and human error.
  • Build custom data collection, parsing, and analysis tools to support threat detection, trend analysis, and security metrics dashboards.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Partner with information security team members, product owners, and compliance and governance stakeholders to translate operational requirements into automation solutions that meet both functional and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all automation solutions adhere to the bank's responsible AI governance framework, data privacy policies, and BSP regulatory requirements.
  • Apply best practice responsible AI principles throughout solution design, including transparency, fairness, and human-in-the-loop controls where appropriate.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Produce comprehensive documentation for all automation solutions: architecture design, implementation guides, configuration runbooks, and end-user manuals.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer to internal team members to support long-term sustainability and operationalization of all delivered solutions.
  • Support the roadmap to scale AI-driven automation beyond the security domain to broader bank processes and products in future phases.

Technical Competencies

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in development, security engineering, or

automation engineering roles.

• Proficiency in one or more scripting/programming languages: Python,

PowerShell, Azure or JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365 platform, including Copilot, Power

Automate, Power Platform, Azure and Graph API integrations.

ISO 27001), and security operations processes.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio or Copilot for Security — this

is a key differentiator for this role.

• Experience deploying Agentic AI or LLM-based automation in enterprise

environments (e.g., multi-agent orchestration, prompt engineering, tool-use

APIs).

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services: Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions,

Azure OpenAI Service, or Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).

• Experience in a regulated industry (financial services, banking, or fintech),

ideally with exposure to BSP regulations or equivalent central bank guidelines.

• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases for security data storage, querying,

and analytics.

• Cloud platform experience with AWS or GCP in addition to Azure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information

Security, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.

• Professional certifications are an advantage, including SC-200 (Microsoft Security

Operations Analyst), AZ-900 or AZ-104 (Azure Fundamentals/Administrator) and

other AI related certifications or trainings.

• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate

ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present technical work to

both engineering teams and senior executives.

• Demonstrated track record of delivering automation or AI projects from concept

through to production deployment.
