The below is a write up on behalf of our client ...
We're hiring a contract SEO specialist in the Philippines, and I want to be honest about what this role is and isn't.
It's not full-time. It's not a 9-to-5. It's not a one-off project.
It IS ongoing, hourly, hands-on SEO execution work for a Dubai-based B2B agency (Pieo) and the portfolio of businesses I run alongside it. We work with a Lake Como villa, a Sri Lanka boutique hotel, AI startups, professional services firms, and luxury health clinics. The variety is real and it keeps the work interesting.
What you'll actually do:
• On-page SEO across client websites — titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking
• Technical fixes in Webflow — redirects, 301s, canonical tags, sitemap hygiene
• Implementing JSON-LD structured data (Organization, LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ, Article schemas)
• Writing and maintaining llms.txt files so AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity can understand client sites
• Keyword research and content briefs using SEMrush
• Weekly site monitoring — catching 404s, broken redirects, indexation issues before they hurt rankings
• Light link prospecting and outreach support
How we work:
We'll train you on our stack. We use Claude, SEMrush, and a set of research tools to move faster than traditional agencies — and we'll show you exactly how. You don't need to arrive as an AI expert. You need to be curious enough to learn, and disciplined enough not to let the tools take over.
This is the part most people get wrong: AI is the assistant, not the work. It speeds up research, helps draft, and surfaces patterns. It does not replace your judgement on a client's meta description, your eye for a broken redirect, or your responsibility to check the output. The role is for someone who uses AI to do better work — not someone who uses AI to do less work.
If you've ever shipped AI output without reading it carefully, this isn't your role.
What I need from you:
Obsessive attention to detail. The reason I'm hiring is because I keep finding broken redirects, 404s on key pages, and meta descriptions that are still on platform defaults. If those things don't physically annoy you, this isn't your role.
Genuine passion for SEO. Not I did a course once. I mean you follow algorithm updates, you've experimented with how ChatGPT and Perplexity surface content, and you can explain the difference between technical and on-page work because you do both.
Genuine curiosity about AI. You don't need to be a power user. You do need to be the kind of person who hears we use Claude for X and thinks show me rather than why bother.
Webflow comfort. Most of our clients are on it. You should be too — not just looked at the editor, actually built or edited pages in it.
Strong written English. You'll write meta descriptions, page titles, schema content, and the occasional outreach email. They need to sound human.
Flexibility. We send work as projects come in. Some weeks will be heavier than others. If you can flex around our project flow, you'll thrive here. If you need fixed hours, you won't.
What you get from me:
Clear briefs. Every task comes with steps and acceptance criteria. You'll never have to guess what done means.
Real AI training. We'll show you how we use Claude, SEMrush, and research tools to compress hours of work into minutes — and where the human still has to drive.
Ongoing recurring work. Not a one-off gig. I want someone to grow into the role over months and years.
Direct access. You'll work with me and my co-founder Andrew. No account managers in the middle.
Fair USD hourly rate, paid weekly.
Real progression. Strong performers earn more responsibility — owning client accounts, leading content strategy, or specialising deeper in technical SEO and AI search readiness.
