Sea Freight Inside Sales

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Sea Freight Inside Sales Specialist. The role involves managing inside sales activities related to sea freight services, including identifying prospective clients, preparing LCL and FCL quotations through the company's TMS, and coordinating logistics operations to ensure smooth supply chain execution.

The ideal candidate has a background in freight forwarding, experience in air and ocean freight, and familiarity with systems such as CargoWise One. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work on a midshift schedule are essential.

Responsibilities

• Create LCL and FCL freight quotations via the company's TMS according to established rates and process specifications (shipments from Germany and other countries).

• Manage and develop relationships with existing and potential clients, particularly those involved in India and China trade lanes.

• Coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery and accurate documentation.

• Track shipments and ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and company procedures.

• Work closely with suppliers, agents, and vendors to ensure smooth communication across the supply chain.

• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including invoices, customs declarations, and bills of lading.

• Maintain accurate records of logistics and sales activities in company systems.

• Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to arrange transportation and negotiate rates when required.

• Resolve issues related to transport delays, damaged cargo, or shipment discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Support the team in maintaining high levels of customer service and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or inside sales.

• Experience handling India and/or China trade lanes (import/export shipments).

• Background in the freight forwarding industry is preferred.

• Experience using CargoWise One or other logistics management systems is an advantage.

• Experience in Ocean Freight operations and quotations.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple shipments and documentation accurately.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics systems.

• Willing to work on a midshift schedule.
