Scrum Master

Position Summary

Position overview: TELUS is seeking a creative, energetic Scrum Master. This role provides the opportunity to be a part of a top strategic area for the company, working closely with cross-functional teams across the organization. We work in a deadline-driven environment, so the ability to prioritize tasks and optimize delivery flow is critical. We're a dynamic team requiring a high degree of flexibility to foster a healthy team culture, remove impediments, and drive strategic outcome delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and facilitate key agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, product demos, retrospectives, planning, and scrum of scrums
• Identify, troubleshoot, and remove team impediments and roadblocks, shielding the team from distractions to ensure smooth delivery
• Drive team environment and culture by promoting team cohesion, conducting 1:1s, organizing team-building activities, and reporting on team health to leadership
• Collaborate with Product Owners to refine user stories
• Facilitate cross-functional discussion, conflict resolution, and problem-solving sessions across digital and organizational teams
• Record, track, and monitor timelines, performance metrics, and overall team delivery flow to optimize productivity and output
• Configure, manage, and maintain team tools and platforms, including Jira and Confluence

• Thorough understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values, and practices
• Outstanding facilitation skills and experience
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types
• Must have exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to coach the team to reach their highest potential, and champion change
• You take ownership on whatever it is you're on and feel accountable for the results
• Self-confidence to be assertive when taking a position and can constructively resolve problems

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as Scrum Master working with Scrum, Kanban and ScrumBan
• Experience working in complex, multi-project, multi-team environments

Nice to Have:

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification
