SAP Lead, Sales & Distribution

The IT Lead SAP SD will be responsible for managing and enhancing the SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) module to support the company's end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) and distribution operations. This role will serve as the key liaison between the IT department and business teams in Sales, Distribution, and Finance, ensuring SAP solutions are aligned with FMCG business needs.

The role demands strong SAP SD functional expertise, hands-on configuration skills, and solid business understanding of FMCG sales, trade promotions, and distribution models.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities:

Functional & Technical Responsibilities

Manage and support all SAP SD-related business processes, including order management, pricing, billing, credit management, shipping, and returns.

Configure and maintain SAP SD settings to meet evolving business requirements.

Ensure seamless integration of SAP SD with other modules (MM, FI/CO, WM, PP, TM, CRM).

Work with business users to gather and document requirements, design solutions, and provide technical guidance.

Analyze and troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and deliver sustainable fixes or enhancements.

Project & Enhancement Delivery

Lead and participate in SAP SD-related projects, including rollouts, upgrades, and process automation initiatives.

Coordinate with external consultants, vendors, and internal teams for timely project execution.

Support testing activities (SIT, UAT), user training, and go-live support.

Contribute to SAP S/4HANA migration or upgrade initiatives as applicable.

Business Engagement

Collaborate closely with Sales, Distribution, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to understand and address business challenges.

Provide system-driven solutions for trade management, order fulfillment, secondary sales, and distribution optimization.

Conduct workshops and training sessions to improve user adoption and system utilization.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

Ensure SAP solutions adhere to IT governance, compliance, and data security standards.

Maintain up-to-date system documentation, process flows, and functional specifications.

Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and enhance business processes using SAP tools and best practices.

What are the Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience: 710 years of SAP experience with at least 5 years in SAP SD configuration and support.

Prior experience in an FMCG or consumer goods company is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash, pricing, billing, rebates, and trade promotions processes.

Exposure to SAP S/4HANA, Fiori apps, and integration with EDI, CRM, or logistics systems is an advantage.

Hands-on experience with project implementation, support, and change management.
