SAP Finance Functional Consultant

Summary

The position will be part of the IT organization while reporting directly to Director -IT Applications. This role requires a deep experience in defining business requirements, solution design, implementation and support of SAP ERP Public Cloud and Financials-accounting software packages and related systems. The manager will work closely within a team and needs to be self-motivated, has little required supervision and successfully complete delivery of value to customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

1. Have a vision of evolving technologies and how it can be adapted in based on the current design.
2. Analyze existing accounting process and system implementation design related issues and their interdependencies.
3. Sound understanding of operation support processes.
4. Recommend containment for critical mission areas and identify permanent actions for complete resolution
5. Drive multiple financial and accounting digital/IT improvement initiatives.
6. Provide excellent communications specifically about representing and justifying customers requirements to technical team and business users.
7. Configure and build the software requirements, drive and participate in successful application rollout
8. Attend internal team meetings and business/customer meetings
9. Document software changes and support preparation of test scripts for quality assurance process

Key Responsibilities:

1. Be the liaison between finance and accounting business users.
2. Drive software packages assessment in financial domain & support any finance related projects.
3. Drive and challenge business requirements on their assumptions of how they will successfully support the business process.
4. Collaborate with SAP application developers and business users to establish the vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
5. Review and develop requirements specifications, functional and technical specifications according to standard templates.
6. Performs and leads product evaluations and proof of concepts for new technologies.
7. Manages all technical aspects of large cross functional IT projects including build vs. buy analysis, software selection, infrastructure requirements and build out, development and system integrations.
8. Provide presentations to key stakeholders within IT space and business partners
9. Perform software development tasks like configuration, testing, and deployment as the need arise.
10. Mentor junior team members
11. Work with IT managers to visualize future IT architecture, implement plans, provide estimates, and lead decisively with team members to take work to completion

Education, Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in accountancy and a Certified Public Accountant/Chartered Accountant (CPA/CA) is preferred
2. Multiple project lifecycle implementations of SAP Financial Accounting functionality, proficiency in financials of standard ERP systems is preferred
3. Extensive experience designing and configuring the key integration points of SAP FI/CO with other SAP modules is preferred
4. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability and willingness to deliver results with an aggressive timeline. Good and effective communication and presentation skills.
5. 5 years+ experience in supporting scalable medium to large scale production environments is required
6. Demonstrated knowledge on Change Management and Issue Management is required
7. Expert knowledge in enterprise data modeling and working knowledge in SQL is an advantage

Preferred Qualifications

1. A bachelor's or master's degree in technical discipline.
2. SAP certified applicants are preferred.
3. SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud experience is an advantage.
