About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Consultant with strong hands-on experience in the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) to support development, enhancement, and support initiatives for large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementations.
This is a fully remote, contractual opportunity with a globally recognized IT solutions company supporting enterprise clients across multiple industries. The role will focus on modern ABAP development, including RAP-based services and integrations aligned with SAP's clean core strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support SAP ABAP solutions including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEFW)
- Design and implement RAP-based applications and services in SAP S/4HANA
- Develop and enhance Object-Oriented ABAP following clean core principles
- Build and expose business objects using RAP, CDS Views, and OData services
- Implement and support user exits, BAdIs, enhancements, and custom workflows
- Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into scalable, RAP-compliant technical solutions
- Develop and support integrations using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and OData
- Optimize ABAP programs for performance, scalability, and S/4HANA readiness
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and technical documentation
- Provide production support and issue resolution within agreed SLAs
- Ensure adherence to SAP development standards, RAP guidelines, and best practices
Required Qualifications
- 35+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience
- Proven hands-on experience with SAP RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) required
- Strong expertise in Object-Oriented ABAP
- Solid experience working with RICEFW objects
- Hands-on experience with CDS Views, OData services, and RAP behavior definitions
- Experience with IDocs, BAPIs, ALV, SmartForms, and SAPScripts
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and integration concepts
- Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA and/or ECC environments
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote setup
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in SAP S/4HANA migration or greenfield implementations
- Exposure to AMDP, Fiori Elements, and SAP Clean Core strategy
- Prior experience working with global or enterprise clients
- Experience in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
