Job Description

The Government Sales Executive is responsible for managing and growing travel service contracts with government departments and public-sector organizations. The role focuses on acquiring new government accounts, maintaining compliance with government procurement policies, negotiating contracts and rates, preparing bids and tenders, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage business relationships with government departments, ministries, PSUs, and public-sector organizations.

Identify new sales opportunities and expand existing government travel accounts.

Prepare, submit, and manage government tenders, RFPs, RFQs, and e-procurement bids in compliance with applicable rules and timelines.

Negotiate contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and pricing as per government norms and company policies.

Coordinate with internal teams (operations, ticketing, hotels, visas, finance, and customer service) to ensure seamless service delivery.

Provide customized, cost-effective, and policy-compliant travel solutions for government clients.

Monitor contract performance, service quality, KPIs, and client satisfaction.

Handle client escalations, resolve service issues, and ensure timely closure.

Maintain accurate records, MIS reports, and documentation related to government accounts.

Stay updated on government procurement procedures, travel regulations, and industry trends.

Represent the organization in government meetings, presentations, and official events.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Travel & Tourism, or a related field.

1–2 years of experience in corporate or government sales, preferably within a travel agency or travel management company (TMC).

Strong knowledge of government procurement processes, tenders, RFPs, and e-procurement portals.

Understanding of corporate and government travel policies, airline fares, hotels, visas, and travel services.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.

Ability to prepare commercial proposals, cost analyses, and compliance documentation.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and deadline management.

Professional demeanor and ability to interact with senior government officials.
