Job Description

Job Summary

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of employees, tenants, contractors, and visitors across company properties. The role oversees safety compliance in construction projects, building operations, and property management activities by implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, and enforcing regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor health and safety policies across residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of buildings, common areas, and construction/fit-out sites
  • Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, building codes, and company standards
  • Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses and prepare reports
  • Facilitate safety orientations for employees, contractors, and tenants
  • Monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements and permits
  • Oversee fire safety programs, drills, and emergency response readiness
  • Maintain safety records, incident logs, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate with property managers, engineers, and external regulatory bodies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
  • Certified Safety Officer (BOSH/COSH or equivalent) preferred
  • At least 24 years experience in safety, preferably in real estate, construction, or facilities
  • Knowledge of local building codes, fire safety standards, and OSH regulations
  • Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills
