Job Description Details

The Senior Finance Analyst AP/AR/GL plays a critical role in managing client engagements and ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial processes. Typical areas of responsibility include Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL), as well as other accounting tasks assigned by the client.

The role requires a solid foundation in accounting principles, standards, taxation, and client-specific policies, combined with the ability to provide high-quality deliverables, maintain strong client relationships, and guide junior staff. Beyond technical expertise, the Senior Specialist / Analyst contributes to process improvements, demonstrates professional judgment, and upholds the quality standards of the Firm and the profession.

The Senior Accounting Specialist / Senior Finance Analyst has the primary responsibility for the conduct of the assigned engagement. In all phases of an engagement, he/she is responsible for performing and supervising work in accordance with professional standards and Firm guidelines.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Engagement Management
  • Understand the client's business and industry sufficiently to perform and manage the job.
  • Apply accounting principles, standards, taxation, and relevant laws to assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the client's accounting policies.
  • Effectively use job-related tools (e.g., Oracle, QuickBooks, MS Office, etc., whichever is applicable).
  • Perform duties and responsibilities assigned by the client.
  • Keep authorized client officers updated on work progress; provide feedback on deliverables, challenges, and issues identified.
  • Confirm assigned tasks with the secondment manager-in-charge.
  • Coordinate with relationship partners such as client suppliers/customers and government agencies/offices, as necessary.
  • Communicate fieldwork-related issues or difficulties promptly and suggest possible courses of action.
  • Validate engagement findings with the client.
  • Ensure deliverables are consistently accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
  • Maintain a calendar of deliverables to meet deadlines and agreed turnaround times.
  • Ensure deliverables are sent to authorized recipients, properly addressed, and marked confidential where required.
  • Adapt willingly to new or different work assignments and schedules while maintaining ethical standards.
  • Remain objective when weighing conflicting opinions and approaches; discuss matters openly with teammates and superiors.
  • Seek and recommend more efficient ways to achieve objectives.
  • Remain receptive to new ideas and demonstrate a positive attitude when adopting different approaches.
  • Perform other tasks or assignments delegated by superiors.
  • Relationship Management
  • Promote the image of the Firm as a provider of high-quality services through professionalism, good client relations, and responsiveness.
  • Communicate regularly with the client regarding work progress and issues, in coordination with the immediate supervisor.
  • Listen objectively and show understanding of client concerns; recommend solutions while maintaining professional objectivity and independence.
  • Work harmoniously and effectively with other members of the team.
  • Actively participate in official Firm and BPS Division activities such as strategic planning, team-building sessions, and socials.
  • Consistently maintain a can-do and positive attitude when accepting assignments and working with colleagues.
  • People Management
  • Serve as a role model by motivating and guiding L1 secondment staff to reach their full professional potential.
  • Lead coaching activities.
  • Professional Development
  • Attend on-the-job training or internal/external seminars for professional development.
  • Request Performance Appraisal Reports (PARs) from the Staff Augmentation Head/Manager for each engagement.
  • Complete an Individual Development Plan and discuss it with the assigned coach.
  • Reach out to mentors and participate in mentoring and coaching activities.
  • Practice Development Functions
  • Assist in assessing potential clients requirements, organization, processes, and unique needs.
  • Participate in suggesting improvements in the Firm's processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Attend meetings with potential clients together with the Manager, Director, or Partner.
  • Administrative Functions
  • Comply with Firm and BPS Division administrative processes, policies, and procedures, including secondment rules and guidelines.
  • Submit accurate time reports, reimbursements, and liquidations promptly.
  • Attend team meetings and huddles.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all engagement-related information; do not disclose or use information acquired during the engagement except as necessary to properly perform work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of solid accounting experience
  • Well-developed communication (oral and written) skills
  • With good interpersonal skills and a positive work attitude.
