Job Description Details
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management processes to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of goods and services that meet business requirements.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure completeness of purchase requests.
- Sources, evaluates, and negotiates with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Prepares and processes purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and related documentation accurately and promptly.
- Reviews and recommends orders based on specifications, cost, and budget approval.
- Manages supplier relationships, accreditation, and performance evaluation to ensure service quality and compliance.
- Reviews and renews contracts, ensuring adherence to internal policies and government regulations.
- Maintains up-to-date supplier databases, monitors contract validity, and oversees supplier payments and related queries.
- Coordinates with internal teams and vendors to resolve procurement, contractual, and payment-related issues efficiently.
- Ensures timely completion of all procurement activities and continuous improvement of sourcing processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- With relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or purchasing.
- Experience with Oracle P2P system is an advantage.
- Familiarity with PEZA and BOC regulations preferred.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively with various teams.
